SELF-REGULATING
FloorHeat  is a flexible, homogeneous, polymer heating element. The plastic is electrically conductive; because of resistance in the material, heat develops. The element is self-regulating which means that when the ambient temperature rises, the electrical resistance increases and the consumption of electricity decreases. For this reason, the element cannot overheat.

LOW-VOLTAGE
FloorHeat operates on low-voltage and does not require a ground fault switch. It is normally connected to a 24 volt transformer, but can also be run by solar or wind-power sources. The system is maintenance free, easily zoned and energy efficient.

DURABLE
FloorHeat  is a strong, thin, plastic mat, 3/64 inch (1.2 mm) thick. It comes in a roll, in different widths, and can be cut to the desired length and field-wired on site.

EASY TO INSTALL
FloorHeat can be installed in new construction and is ideal for renovation projects because of the thinness of the material. The heating elements come in a roll and are cut to size on site. The system is suitable and easy to fit in a whole house or only in areas where extra heating is required.
Heated hardwood floor.
FloorHeat is approved for use with any non-conductive floor covering including: natural stone, ceramic and porcelain tiles, hardwood and laminates, resilient, and carpet.
Power Requirements
  • FloorHeat systems heating a 21 to 300 sq. ft. area require a 240 V. 20 amp breaker
  • FloorHeat systems heating a 300 to 740 sq. ft. area require a 240 V. 30 amp breaker

The formula to calculate the maximum element length per fuse (5A) in the terminal board is 24V x 5A / XX W/ft; the formula for the maximum total element length (8A) with two jumped fuses is 24V x 8A / XX W/ft.

FloorHeat System Includes:

Heating Element - FloorHeat is a unique polymer heating element that can be installed directly under any material. FloorHeat is most popular under hardwood floors and carpet. Since FloorHeat is so thin and lightweight it can work in any new or remodeling project without compromising your design. The self-regulating properties of the polymer heating element makes FloorHeat one of the most efficient floor heating systems on the market.
Control Unit - Electronic power controller with relay output allows for infinite variable setting of requested heating output, up to 10A. The advanced circuitry of this unit regulates the entire system assuring safe, accurate, and optimal performance.
Activation Device - An electronic thermostat/regulator combination is used for zone control of FloorHeat system. The thermostat can be flush wall mounted in single gang box. Each regulator can control up to 2,500W of connected load. Up to three additional regulators can be connected to first regulator to allow for group control of up to 10,000W of connected load.
